...another thread i'll have to revisit when I haven't been up too late. But quickly, I also get kinda bored with September 73 myself. Most usually gripe about the horns, but I think a key factor to consider when considering this run is the lack of Dark Star's and Other Ones', as well as cool Playin sandwiches like we started to get on the next tour (though even the standalone Playin's on the horns tour never really reach above average). At that point, for nearing on 2 years, we were used to Dark Star and the Other One being the big jam highlight of the show, as the jams on the two had gotten very tight and were almost always predictably awesome. Here we see the highlights coming from the still-evolving Eyes and the brand new WRSuite. I think that is another factor as to why people don't usually favor the era.

Anyway I think it's probably no surprise that 9/11 tends to be an exception to those who don't care for Sept 73, as it's the only one with a Dark Star (though I'll take 8/1's DS over 9/11, myself). Food for thought, anyway.
